​Delano E. Brazil, PE, is the President, CEO, and Founder of APEX Consulting Engineers, LLC. A licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Wisconsin with nearly 30 years of experience, he founded APEX in 2004 to bring fresh, practical innovation to the industry.
Delano’s leadership emphasizes empowerment, initiative, and collaboration. “I’m an entrepreneur, but I like to create intrapreneurs,” he says—a mindset that shapes APEX’s forward-thinking culture.
He has led numerous multimillion-dollar public and private-sector projects focused on improving transportation, safety, and infrastructure. Del finds satisfaction in seeing projects move from concept to completion, knowing they make a lasting impact in the communities APEX serves.
Del holds a BSCE from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. He is an active member of both the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). He is certified in IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities and proficient in construction documentation standards for IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT.
